Linkin Park and Thirty Seconds to Mars will be touring the United States this summer with special guest AFI. Dubbed the Carnivore Tour, fans are excited about this announcement.
In a press conference, band members weighed in on this ambitious experience. “We share a lot of fans,” said Chester Bennington, lead singer for Linkin Park. “I feel like this is a great moment for these bands to come together and hit the road.”
Jared Leto, who recently won an Oscar for his role in Dallas Buyers Club, chimed in, “It’s going to be an incredible adventure. It’s a meeting of the minds and something people are not boing to want to miss.” The Mars frontman jokingly added, “An orgy of art and music.”
Thirty Seconds to Mars and AFI both released new albums last year, and Linkin Park is slated to finish their next project during the summer. For the past few months, the band members have posted teasers to the various social media sites. Recently, they shared a YouTube video sampling a small clip from a new song, which seems to be drifting away from their EDM-inspired tracks from their most recent album, Living Things.
Last year, Bennington was hired to lead the Stone Temple Pilots. They completed a small EP, and many Linkin Park fans wondered how his new job would impact the band. However, he has easily dealt with the pressure of fronting two high-profile act, and he will continue to make quality music.
Dates and venues for the tour can be found at www.carnivoretour.com. Pre-Sale tickets go on sale Friday, March 7th.
