If you’re anything like me, seeing folks running around in sweatshirts and utility jackets is usually a harbinger of my seasonal effective disorder. Many of us didn’t go to tropical resorts this past summer, so we’re probably feeling a little cheated.
That said, there’s a bunch of ways to celebrate the last of these warm nights while welcoming that new crisp, autumn air. Here a few ideas for transitioning onto old, man Winter.
Curl up with a good novel. Nothing calms my brain more than sitting down with a good book over a nice, hot cup of tea. Pair that with your warm pj’s and you are good to go, girl.
Treat yourself with a home-made facial or pedicure. I grabbed an amazing facial mask for a few bucks at CVS this past weekend. The change in air temperature usually leaves my face feeling dry. Giving yourself a quick mini-ped (all you need is warm water and a mini-pedi kit) and a cooling facial, and you’ll be feeling like a queen in no-time FAST.
All pumpkin everything. Yes, I’m on the pumpkin-obsessed train too. And pumpkin is cheap and easy (sorry, Pumpkin). Grab a can at any grocery store nearby and google yourself an easy recipe for pumpkin soup or just run to Starbucks like me instead. Addicting, I know.
Have a bonfire or a picnic. Grab a few of your bff’s, find a cool, little spot and host yourself a girl’s night with some wine over a fire or a day picnic in park. Won’t break the bank and will surely be a sweet time for all.
